South Korea Financial regulator vows to lift red tape

South Korea will facilitate competitions among financial companies by removing regulatory hurdles, the chief regulator said Thursday, pledging to abolish up to 10 percent of current restrictions. "We will remove even invisible barriers and outdated practices in the financial sector that hamper players' activities," Financial Services Commission chairman Shin Je-yoon said in a meeting with heads of banks and other financial firms.
