Iran’s IAEA envoy, Ali-Asghar Soltanieh, said on Monday operation of Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant marks an important event in Iran’s nuclear industry history. Speaking to IRNA after the first working day session of the IAEA Board for this week, Soltanieh said that during the IAEA Board discussions on nuclear power plants and nuclear safety on Monday, he had referred to Bushehr power plant operation in presence of Iranian and Russian senior officials as “a major event in the nuclear industry of Iran.” He added that in other part of his address in the IAEA Board, he had thanked Russia for its contribution to completion of the power plant and the IAEA for its cooperation to nuclear safety project in the course of the power plant completion project.
