
Visiting Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Friday had talks with chairman of World Economic Forum (Davos) Klaus Schwab.
The meeting was held in the conference hall that is hosting the forum activities, now in session here.
Sisi has proposed Egypt's hosting of the coming round of the forum in Sharm el Sheikh next May, said Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Alaa Youssef, noting that the Davos chairman welcomed the proposal.
Schwab, added the spokesman, congratulated president Sisi over the success of Egypt Economic Development Conference, that was held in Sharm el Sheikhk in March.
Schwab further added that the conference has been a major turning point for presenting investment opportunities in Egypt, according to the spokesman.
The Davos chairman noted that inaugurating the New Suez Canal in August will be a landmark international event, added the spokesman.
President Sisi extended an invitation to Schwab to attend the inauguration ceremony, said the spokesman, noting that the Davos chief accepted the invitation.
