
Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal announced Wednesday during a meeting with civil society at the end of his working visit to Biskra, a program of further development amounted to DZD28.986 billion allocated to 450 operations. Sellal stressed that the areas covered by this program are housing and urban planning, public works, water resources, agriculture and forestry, industrial development and investment promotion, youth and sports, environment, culture, and communal development programs. Part of this program, the projects of 5,000 housing units, rural housing rehabilitation, and multidisciplinary museum will be built. The national roads and municipal roads will be rehabilitated. Drinking water wells and further protection works against floods in several localities will be established. Concerning public health, a 240 bed hospital in Biskra and a hospital for cardiovascular patients will be built as the program provides funding, research and equipment of these two new health facilities. For youth and sports sector, a 5,000-seat stadium is included in the program in Ouled Djellal locality. Two business areas will be developed as part of this program, which also includes the creation of a technical landfill. Representatives of civil society meeting with the Prime Minister expressed their satisfaction with the consistency of this particular program that meets their most pressing concerns, namely roads, water and health.
