
The Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf met in Jeddah today with U.S. Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, they reviewed the economic situations in the Kingdom and the United States of America; the prospects for the global economy in light of the situations in Europe and Asia; the importance of stable global economic growth for the economic situations in the two countries; joint efforts to combat financing of terrorism; and developments in the application of the law of tax compliance for foreign accounts of U.S. citizens.
They also discussed the economic situation in the region and ways of cooperation to ensure the restoration of economic growth and improvement of employment opportunities in countries undergoing transformation, and coordination has been done on positions on issues and topics on the agenda of the international financial meetings.
The meeting was attended by the Governor of Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency Dr. Fahd Al-Mubarak; Deputy Finance Minister Dr. Hamad Albazei; and U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Dr. Joseph W. Westphal.
