S. Korea rice output to fall to 31-year low

South Korea's rice production is expected to fall to the lowest level in 31 years due to bad weather conditions and a steady decrease in the size of rice paddies, a government report showed Monday. The report by Statistics Korea said the country's rice production could reach 4.21 million tons this year, down 1.9 percent from around 4.29 million tons harvested in 2010.
