The Russian Business Council in the U.A.E. is organising the second Russia - GCC Business Forum, in partnership with the Russian Arab Business Council, Dubai Multiple Commodities Centre (DMCC), and GPS Business Management. The event is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Economy in the U.A.E. and is organised by the Russian Business Council through its belief in the importance of economic cooperation between Russia and GCC countries and its intentions to develop its role in this cooperation. The forum, which will be held in "Almas" tower in Dubai, from 11th -12th February 2014, will see the participation of delegations representing various Russian regions, Russian establishments and infrastructure development companies, as well as prominent figures from the Arab Gulf represented by the U.A.E. Minister of Economy, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, and a number of business leaders from across the region. Dr. Igor Egorov, Chairman of the Russian Business Council, has welcomed the participants and remarked that, "This forum is a remarkable step to progress forward towards the development of the already thriving business ties, which has led to signing a Memorandum of Investment worth 5 billion dollars to establish partnerships in Russian infrastructure projects in 2013, in addition to the development of the trade rate between Russia and the U.A.E., and the number of companies, which has increased to 3000 Russian registered companies during the past year." The two-day event will focus on promoting trade relations between Russia and the GCC countries, and providing the opportunity for those interested in mutual investments, through holding an exhibition for companies participating in the forum in conjunction with workshops addressing Russia - GCC cooperation in implementing infrastructure projects, developing cooperation in gas and oil services, the petrochemical industry, nuclear plants and alternative energy resources, as well as nanotechnology, communications and telecommunications. Dr. Egorov also stated that the Council is looking forward to attracting more business leaders and projects into the joint business field, with the aim of creating new opportunities for economic cooperation, which is "a win-win situation that serves the interests of both countries."
