Russia will carry out new projects in part of the Suez Canal Corridor as part of the ministry's plan to transform the area into a mega industrial entity, said Head of the Suez Canal Authority Mohab Memish.
During his meeting with renowned Egyptian scientist Ahmed Zewil in his visit to the Suez Canal Thursday, Memish said that the number of workers at the project reached until now 25,000.
The project is scheduled to be finalized on August 6, 2015, he added.
He, meanwhile, said that several Arab and foreign countries achieved economic leaps via developing one port, including Dubai, Hong Kong and Singapore.
