Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) announced that profits and total assets in banking sector increased in the first three months in 2013 compared to same period of last year. According to the report on banking sectors' general view published by BRSA, banking sectors' net profit for the first quarter of this year increased 973 million TL (approx. 540 million USD), and reached 6.953 billion TL (approx. 3.862 billion USD). Total assets of banking sector also increased 4.2%, and reached 1.428 trillion TL (approx. 793.3 million USD) compared to same quarter of last year. Loans increased 4.9% compared to year-end of last year, according to the BRSA report. Housing laons, which are the most rapidly increasing credits segment in consumer credits, have also increased 22.1%. Following the housing loans, personal and other consumer loans also increased 19.5%.
