President Obama: New Jersey shore back in business

The New Jersey Shore is back and open for business after being shut down due to the damage caused by Hurricane Sandy, U.S. President Barack Obama said Tuesday. President Obama told New Jersey residents that they are stronger than the storm that hammered their communities. The president noted that the job of repairing the damage is not yet done, saying that he returned to the state in part to show that he is still committed to pushing the federal government to making the New Jersey Shore stronger and more resilient than it was previously. President Obama spoke alongside Governor Chris Christie in Asbury Park seven months after the storm bore down, causing $38 billion in damage.
