Dozens of workers were forced to spend the night underground after a fire broke out in a potash mine west of Saskatoon, Canada, officials said. No one was injured in Friday night's fire at the Agrium Vanscoy mine, CBC News reported. The 54 workers spent the night in underground shelters after a piece of equipment caught fire Friday night. The fire was extinguished early Saturday morning but workers had to wait until the smoke had dissipated before they could leave, mine officials said. The shelters, which are equipped with food, water, emergency equipment and telephones, can handle handle evacuations of about 36 hours, CBC reported.
