
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) reported on Wednesday that the total number of passengers who have used Kuwait International Airport last June stood at 876990 compared to 865062 passengers in June of 2012. The department said in a statement that the number of passengers rose by 10 pct recording 401141 passengers last June compared with 366308 passengers in the same month last year while the number of departing passengers dwindled by five pct to 475849 last June against 498754 passengers in June of 2012. The statement added that the total number of flights to and from Kuwait International Airport last June was 6,959, compared to 6,655 trips in June 2012. The number of arriving and departing commercial flights reached 511 flights last June compared to 837 trips in June of 2012. In terms of cargo traffic, the DGCA reported that the total incoming freight last June rose by two pct to about 11.941 million kg compared to 11. 691 million kg in June of 2012.
