Oslo mayor Fabian Stang has regretted that he used an unregistered painter in this summer to paint his cabin in the Oppland county.
The mayor told the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet that he paid 42,000 kroner (about 7,000 U.S. dollars) for the painting job, for which no contact was signed and no valid receipt was given.
After Norwegian media broke it, Stang had to come out with an apology on Facebook: "Dear all, I have made a fool of myself."
Now, the mayor said, he has paid all taxes and fees in accordance with rules.
