Myanmar and Israel will enhance cooperation in agricultural development related to production of qualified agricultural produce, official media reported Thursday. The discussion was made between Myanmar Minister for Agriculture and Irrigation U Myint Hlaing and Israeli Ambassador to Myanmar Hagay Moshe Behar and Israeli agriculturalists while visiting a mango research farm in Nay Pyi Taw, said the New Light of Myanmar. Both sides discussed matters related to technology transfer from Israel, cooperation between the two countries in agricultural sector and establishment of model farmlands in the arid zone with the help of Israeli technology in water management. Meanwhile, many Myanmar scholars were dispatched to Israel to pursue study under an agreement reached between Myanmar and the Israeli Embassy here. The bilateral cooperation program has been funded by Israel since 1994.
