Member of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Heidar Avazpour said imposing sanctions on a country’s Central Bank virtually means waging an economic war against it. Talking to IRNA on Monday, he said the British government should heed to the fact that imposing sanctions against Central Bank of Iran in fact means waging an economic war against the Islamic Republic. Referring to the recent developments regarding the UK embassy in Tehran, he noted that the Iranian parliament passed a bill urging the Foreign Ministry to downgrade its ties with the UK after London’s decision to impose sanctions against Iran’s Central Bank. The parliamentarian pointed out that the revolutionary students in Iran could not stand the insulting behavior of the British government and gathered in front of the UK embassy in Tehran in protest.
