Mexican telecom billionaire Carlos Slim remained the world's richest man for the third year in a row with a fortune of 69 billion U.S. dollars, according to the annual tally of billionaires released by Forbes on Wednesday. Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are in second and third places with 61 billion dollars and 44 billion dollars respectively. The United States again led the list with 425 billionaires. Russia overtook the Chinese mainland for the second spot, with 96 billionaires compared with China's 95. Moscow led all cities with 78 billionaires, followed by New York with 58 and London with 39. This year's list, in the magazine's 25th annual issue on the world's wealthiest people, included a record 1,226 entrants who sat atop average fortunes of 3.7 billion U.S. dollars.
