Mazda recalls older SUVs for rust issue

A rust problem is prompting Mazda to recall 109,000 older-model Tribute sports-utility vehicles. The problem in the 2001-04 model Tribute could cause a separation of the lower control arm from the vehicle's subframe. To fix the problem, dealers will install a cross-brace reinforcement to the vehicles. A recall last month of the Ford Escape was prompted by the same problem.
