
Unemployment rate in Malaysia fell in July to 2.8%, official data showed Monday.
Department of Statistics Malaysia said today that Unemployment was expected to rise in July to 3.1%, from the 2.9% registered in June. The Malaysian economy has been performing strongly in 2014.
The first half of 2014 have seen the Malaysian economy register a growth of 6.5%. Economists in the economy are forecasting an interest rate increase, a sign of an improving economy, by the end of 2014 or the beginning of 2015. The current interest rate is 3.25%. The last rate hike was last month.
