
Sales worth US $8 Million (RM25.3 Million) was registered during the Showcase Malaysia 2013 expo held in Chennai, the capital city of the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu, by the Malaysia External Trade Corporation (Matrade). The sales were reported by the 28 participating companies from various sectors, namely, education, health care and wellness, cosmetics, automotive parts and components, furniture and franchise businesses, according to a Bernama report. "There were a total of 4,030 visitors to the event which targeted not only the Tamil Nadu business fraternity, but also the southern region as a whole," Matrade said in a statement here. Matrade Chief Executive Officer Dr. Wong Lai Sum inaugurated the event held at the Chennai Convention Centre from June 20 to 23.It was held to tap the business opportunities in India for Malaysia.
