With exports totalling 437 million dollars and a 7% share, Italy remained the main EU exporter to Lebanon in the first quarter of 2012 and the second on global level, after the U.S. This emerged from statistical data released by the Lebanese customs houses, quoted in the economic bulletin issued by the Italian embassy. In the same period, the U.S. exported for 1,223 million dollars, gaining a 20% share. After Italy follow France (407 million dollars), China (383 million) and Germany (264 million). Italian exports consist for 51% of refined oil products, 10% machinery, 7% chemical products, 6% textile/clothing and 5% primary metals and metal products.
