Minister of Economy in the caretaker government of Lebanon Nicolas Nahas has warned of the impact of the political crisis in his country on the path of the economy. Al Nahas told reporters today that economic indicators point to the possibility of resilience, noting that the overall growth reached 2 per cent. He added that external indicators warned that the economy will be affected, if the political crisis exacerbates and the country enters into a vacuum. The Lebanese minister underlined the need to respect the constitutional proposals for salvaging Lebanon of economic consequences. The data issued by the Association of Banks showed two days ago that Lebanon's public debt, until last October, hiked to USD 62 billion and 390 million.
