The landlords are renting their houses and offices against their property taxes without any extra thanks to the ongoing economic crisis. The rent fees in Greece fell by 10-30% in Athens; furthermore, one third of leaseholders could not pay the rent on time. In the downtown Athens, the rents and selling prices of houses dropped sharply; as sales also fell by nearly 50 %. On the other hand, the government is expected to implement the additional taxes and hoping to raise an extra 3.2 billion Euro from 5 million landlords by the end of this month.
