
Kuwait's Ambassador to Jordan Hamad Al-Duaij laid here Saturday the foundation stone for a Kuwaiti-funded charitable school project at a total cost of USD 2 million in the southern governorate of Tafilah. In statements to KUNA on the sidelines of the foundation stone laying ceremony, Ambassador Al-Duaij said that the grant for the school is offered upon instructions from His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. He pointed out that the school, to be named after His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al -Sabah, will be established on an area of 3,000 square meters and will comprise 80 classes to accommodate 2,500 students. He underlined that the school funding comes within the framework of Kuwait's global humanitarian role and in reflection of the strong relations between Kuwait and Jordan. In statements to KUNA, Chief of Tafilah Municipal Council Abdulrahman Al-Maherah expressed gratitude for Kuwait's finance to the project and its support to development projects in Hashemite Kingdom.
