Juan Carlos warns of tough future facing Spanish economy

Spanish King Juan Carlos called on Spanish people to unite to address the economic crisis facing the nation, saying the European country would face "difficult moments" ahead. Carlos made the remarks during a farewell ceremony for outgoing prime minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, commending his government for its achievements namely in the fight against terrorism. Zapatero's socialist party lost the November 20 elections against the opposition Popular Party which won 187 seats. Incoming prime minister Mariano Rajoy will take over his new post on December 21 and will announce his cabinet line-up the following day.
