Jobless claims jump by 18000

The U.S. Labor Department said first-time jobless benefits claims rose by 18,000 to 354,000 in the week that ended Saturday. The department revised the previous week's estimate from 344,000 to 346,000. This set the four-week rolling average at 348,250, up 2,500 from the previous week.
