Job creation in 2014 will likely top 500,000, to reach a 12-year high, mainly due to more women joining the work force and more part-time positions becoming available for job seekers, local economic think tanks said Sunday.
According to the Korea Development Institute (KDI), Hyundai Research Institute (HRI), the Korea Employment Information Service (KEIS) and LG Economic Research Institute (LGERI), some 600,000 new jobs have been created in the first half, but this will trail off to around 400,000 in the July-December period.
