Japan's core private-sector machinery orders rose a seasonally adjusted 14.2 percent in March from February, up for the second straight month, according to the government data released on Friday. The figure corresponds to an upturn forecast in the orders, which exclude those for ships as well as from utilities because of their volatility, by some economists. The reading is widely seen as an indicator for future capital spending by companies.
