Japan grants PA $10m in budget support

Prime Minister Salam Fayyad and Japan’s Representative to the Palestinian Authority (PA), Naofumi Hashimoto, Sunday signed an agreement, by which Japan grants PA US $10 million in budget support, according to a statement by the Representative Office of Japan. It said the grant was extended as part of the international support to alleviate PA’s financial difficulties. The statment added that in return, PA will use the grant to procure commodities critically needed for daily economic activities in the Palestinian Territory.
