Russian Federation Agriculture Minister Nikolay Fedorov and Iran's Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanayee exchanged views on ways to bolster agricultural cooperation between Tehran and Moscow. Speaking at the meeting in the Russian capital on Friday, Fedorov said mutual cooperation in agricultural fields, especially renting lands to produce cereals in Russian soil by Iranian farmers, has good grounds. He said Russian people are very interested in Iranian culture and civilization, and this interest can pave the way for development of mutual cooperation. Fedorov underlined that Russian Federation is ready to use all its capacities for expansion of agricultural cooperation with Iran. Sanayee, for his part, welcomed development of cooperation between the two countries and proposed establishment of a working group for cooperation between Agricultural Ministries and invited Russian Minister to pay a visit to Iran for promotion of cooperation between the two countries. Existing actual capacity for exporting cereals from Russia to Iran and possibility for exporting fruit and fresh vegetables from Iran to Russia were among other issues discussed in the meeting. Fishery and animal husbandry were also among other issues of cooperation between the two countries. Iran and Russia have vast cooperation in different fields, specially in political and economic spheres. The two states also enjoy special positions on the international scene and have long had constant and regular consultations on key regional and global issues.
