Iran has made $1.1 billion during the first ten months of the current calendar year, started on March 21, 2011, by fueling ships sailing in the Persian Gulf, according to the deputy oil minister. Alireza Zeighami said that the figure is 300 million dollars more than during the same period last year, Pananews news agency reported. He said that some 1.7 million tons of furnace oil and 28,000 tons of gas oil have been sold to vessels during the previous 10 months. Iran’s fifth five-year development plan (2010-2015) aims for the country to sell 4.2 million tons of oil a year and hold a 30 percent share of bunkering in the Persian Gulf.
