Indonesia to hold trade expo

Indonesia will hold the 26th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2011 from 0ct. 19 to 23, detik.com online news portal quoted an official as saying here. It is the biggest trade exhibition in the country, which targets transaction of 380 million U.S. dollars with 8,300 buyers, The expected transaction will surpass last year of 369.3 million dollars. Director General of National Export Development at the Trade Ministry Hesti Indah Kresnarini said that amid global crisis economy, the TEI becomes of key factors to increase Indonesia's trade with several countries. "We remain optimistic on TEI this year. Correction on traditional markets could be replaced by new ones so that Indonesia's product export won't experience sharp correction," she said. She said that transaction in TEI has been increasing 1.21 percent with buyer increase of 1.22 percent during the last seven years.
