The Indiana Legislature voted to name a gun kept at President William Henry Harrison's home as the official state rifle. The Grouseland rifle, named for Harrison's Grouseland home in Vincennes, was approved by a 78-2 vote Tuesday in the House after earlier being approved 48-2 by the Senate, the Indianapolis Star reported Wednesday. The measure, which was an amendment added to a bill dealing primarily with libraries, must now be approved by Gov. Mitch Daniels. The Grouseland rifle is one of only six remaining long rifles made by Indiana native John Small in the 1800s.
