IAG unveils full-year profit of 555 mn euros

International Airlines Group, formed last year from the merger of British Airways and Spanish carrier Iberia, announced on Wednesday net profits of 555 million euros ($747.5 million) for 2011. IAG estimated that a combined group would have recorded a far lower profit after tax of 100 million euros in 2010, according to an earnings statement.
