
Hong Kong's overall gross domestic product rose 3.3 percent over a year earlier in real terms in the second quarter of 2013, accelerating from the 2.9 percent increase in the first quarter, the Census and Statistics Department announced Monday. Analyzed by constituent services sector and on a year-on-year comparison, net output in respect of all the services activities taken together grew 3.7 percent in real terms in the second quarter, compared with the 2.8 percent growth in the first quarter. Net output in the import and export, wholesale and retail trades sector rose 5.1 percent in real terms in the second quarter, compared with the increase of 5.8 percent in the first quarter.
