German Economy Minister Philip Roessler will leave on Wednesday to the Iraqi capital Baghdad, leading an economic delegation for a two-day visit. During the visit, the German Minister is to discuss ways to expand economic relations between Germany and Iraq. The Minister will meet with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and several Iraqi ministers concerned with the purpose of the visit. The German minister along with his Iraqi counterpart will open the German Pavilion at the Baghdad Industrial Fair. Rossler said Tuesday that Iraq was making great efforts for reconstruction, "We are willing to enhance the participation of German companies in the future economic recovery, so the visit will also discuss ways of enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy economy."
