German blue-chip DAX index tops all-time intraday high

Germany's blue-chip DAX 30 stock index topped an all-time intraday high in late morning on Tuesday, propelled by a raft of favourite corporate earnings reports, traders said. The DAX rose 0.6 percent on the day to an intraday high of 8,162.54 points, surpassing the previous record high of 8,151.57 points dating from July 2007. It subsequently slipped back slightly to show a gain of 0.57 percent at 8,158.44 points.
