The GCC Ministerial Council and the RIO Group held a session of talks at United Nations here on Monday, chaired by UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Chilean Foreign Minister Alfredo Moreno, whose country currently chairs the RIO group. HE GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani attended the meeting Talks during the meeting dealt with ways to boost the economic cooperation between the GCC and the RIO group, especially in the area of trade exchange. The two sides also discussed the regional and international issues listed in the agenda of the 66th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The Rio Group is an international organization of Latin American states. It was set up in 1986 as an alternative body to the Organization of American States
