Former Dutch foreign minister Ben Bot on Tuesday highlighted the futility of European Union oil sanctions against Tehran, saying Iran would find plenty of other oil customers around the world to fill the EU void, according to Radio Netherlands. 'I believe there will be more than enough countries willing to take up the slack and buy more Iranian oil,” he said. Bot made clear that US and EU efforts to isolate Iran were also useless. 'Isolating a country, certainly a country as big as Iran, is impossible,” he reiterated. 'Iran has the support of quite a few countries in addition to India and China,' said Bot who was Dutch foreign minister from 2003 until 2007.
