The euro remained weak against the U. S. dollar and the Japanese yen Thursday morning in Tokyo on increasing fears of Italy becoming engulfed in the eurozone's festering debt crisis. At noon, the euro was quoted at 1.3540-3541 dollar and 105.32- 34 yen against 1.3536-3546 dollar and 105.33-43 yen in New York and 1.3791-3792 dollar and 107.01-05 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Wednesday. The dollar fetched 77.78-82 yen versus 77.78-88 yen in New York and 77.59-60 yen in Tokyo late Wednesday afternoon.
