
Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko said Thursday that the draft agreement on the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union is ready. Belarus is discussing some of the provisions with the Russian government, Semashko said at an expanded meeting of the board of energy efficiency department of the Belarusian State Committee for Standardization. Semashko said Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan have accelerated their progress towards the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union. "We may be slow starters sometimes but once we start we drive fast," he added. The Eurasian Economic Union of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, which is to be formed by 2015, is to become the most advanced form of economic integration of the three countries, which are already united in their Customs Union. The overall gross domestic product (GDP) of the three countries accounts for 85 percent of the total GDP of all the Commonwealth of Independent States.
