Brussels - QNA
The European Commission Tuesday announced the allocation of an extra EUR 65 million to tackle the aftermath of the floods in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia. Out of this, EUR million in humanitarian aid will be released to help the most vulnerable people in both countries to address their most immediate needs, in particular food, health and sanitation, first aid and shelter, it said in a statement. The remaining EUR 62 million has been mobilised to respond to short to medium term reconstruction and relief needs in the affected areas. The money will be available by the end of June. A number of EU member states which have offered assistance to Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina has risen to 19 in response to record-breaking floods which have caused widespread devastation.
