EU extends €126m aid for Jordan

Jordan received 126 million euros in aid from the European Union (EU) to support reforms and honor needs of the Syrian refugees, a government official said Monday. Minister of planning and international cooperation Ibrahim Saif, in a statement following his return from Brussels, said 66 million euros would be used to support reform projects and programs, and 60 million to help Jordan provide services for the Syrian refugees. Ibrahim said Jordan received three EU donations totalled 45 million euros to support civil society, media, reforms, security and governance. Jordan is hosting around 600,000 Syrian refugees who fled the conflict in their country.
