The EU-Egypt cooperation in the water sector stretches over a wide portfolio of programs covering nine Egyptian
provinces and total direct grant funds of about EUR 300 million in six different programs, said Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Egypt James Moran.
This came during a conference themed "Water: Facing the Water Scarcity, Existing Challenges and Opportunities".
"I firmly believe that water holds the key to sustainable development." Moran said.
The event was co-hosted by the Egyptian Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation and the delegation of the European Union to Egypt.
Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hossam Moghazy attended the opening ceremony of the Second EU Water Talk on Monday in Alexandria.
