
Deputy Chairman of the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) Mamdouh Abdel-Fattah has said imports of wheat will not be affected by the latest developments in Ukraine, one of the exporters.In statements to MENA, Abdel-Fattah added that GASC depended on several markets for wheat imports such as Ukraine, Romania, France, the USA and Russia at the lowest prices and best quality.Egypt imported 880 tons of wheat from Ukraine since July 20 out of total imports of 4.5M tons, he concluded.Egypt is the world's biggest wheat importer while Russia is the world's No. 1 exporter of this strategic commodity.
