EC approves Partnership Agreement with Poland on EU funds

The European Commission (EC) has approved a Partnership Agreement with Poland on using European Union (EU) funds between 2014 and 2020, Poland's Infrastructure and Development Ministry told local press on Friday. "It is the most important, quite detailed document that determines the strategy of how to use the new allotment of EU funds for 2014-2020," said Elzbieta Bienkowska. Poland will receive 160 billion U.S. dollars from the EU budget, including 112 billion U.S. dollars under the Cohesion Policy, 43 billion U.S. dollars under the Common Agricultural Policy and 5 billion euros (6.8 billion U.S. dollars) for programs including Horizon 2020 and Erasmus. The Partnership Agreement is a document agreed between the EC and member states, which specifies the main areas of investments supported by EU funds in 2014-2020. Poland was the first EU member state to file its draft Partnership Agreement to the EC. The EC has already endorsed a similar agreement for Denmark.
