The U.S. dollar stayed in the mid-77 yen level Friday morning after the bond auction in Italy went well. At noon, the dollar was quoted at 77.56-57 yen, compared with Thursday's 5 p.m. quotes of 77.59-69 yen in New York and 77.64-65 yen in Tokyo. The euro fetched 1.3619-3620 dollar and 105.63-65 yen, against late Thursday's quotes of 1.3612-3622 dollar and 105.60-70 yen in New York and 1.3496-3497 dollar and 104.78-82 yen in Tokyo.
