A delegation from Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (DEPE) and Dubai Shopping Malls Group (DSMG) this week visited the Kingdom of Morocco, following an official invitation from the Governor of Casablanca. The visit was an opportunity for the Establishment to showcase the strength and success of Dubai’s events sector while highlighting the range of world-class events and festivals on offer across the Emirate. The delegation was headed by  Ibrahim Saleh, Festivals Coordinator General and Deputy CEO, Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment, and included Eisa Adam, General Manager of Burjuman and DSMG representative” Abdulla Amiri, Senior Manager — Raffles and Promotions,  Faisal Lutfi, Senior Manager — Chanel Strategy and Online Development, Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment, and Ms. Ma Al-Aynayn Salama, Manager of the company in charge of the delegation’s trip. Commenting on the success of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) and the milestones achieved in the 17 years since its launch, Saleh said: “The Dubai Shopping Festival has set the standard for shopping festivals both regionally and internationally. “Since its inception in 1996, DSF has been incredibly successful in strengthening the relationship between the public and private sectors while contributing to the development of Dubai’s economy. DSF now acts as a model for other international markets seeking the same level of success.” Saleh gave a presentation the first edition of DSF, offering highlights and snapshots of the features that led to its success and popularity in the nearly two decades since its launch. The visit was also an opportunity for the Moroccan delegation to present its growing interest in organizing its own annual shopping festival, similar to the Dubai Shopping Festival. Dubai delegates were introduced to the city’s parks and other state of the art facilities, including the recently opened Dhs2billion Morocco Mall which houses over 600 international brands -all of which will play a key role in the success of the Casablanca shopping festival.
