Chinese leader stresses oversight in transfer of economic

Senior leader He Guoqiang on Friday ordered local authorities and inspectors nationwide to reinforce supervision over projects concerning the country's drive to transform the economic growth pattern. He, head of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, made the remarks at a meeting in Beijing on the inspection and examination of efforts to transform the economic growth mode. He, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said supervision and examination on projects related to the transformation of economic growth pattern must be strengthened to ensure the smooth implementation of the strategic policy by the central government. He said that to inspect projects related to the transformation of economic growth pattern is an imperative and long-time task. He stressed inspectors must strengthen the supervision work over areas where funds earmarked for the economic growth pattern transformation flow and how them are managed.
