Manufacturing activity in Europe slowed in June, hitting a 25-month low in the eurozone, research firm Markit Economics said Monday. The Purchasing Managers Index for the eurozone dropped to 48.5 in September, above a previous estimate of 48.4. Numbers above 50 indicate business growth and numbers below show a contraction. For September, the Netherlands at 48.9, Austria at 48.7 and France at 48.2 hit 26-month lows. Spain at 43.7 hit a 27-month low and Germany at 50.3 hit a 24-month lowhad. Italy had a two-month high at 48.3.
