Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) will work hard to get permit to export milk to the European Union (EU) this year, said Ljubomir Kalaba, Director of BiH Veterinary Office, on Thursday. BiH will review problems in milk and dairy production and continue its work to get the export permit to the EU market, Kalaba said in response to a report by the European Commission Food and Veterinary Office (FVO). The report concluded current control of milk and dairy products in BiH was not efficient enough to get the export permit to the EU market. The FVO delegation conducted inspection in January over the production chain of processing dairy products in BiH. BiH can review the problems mentioned in the FVO report and take actions to get the export permit as soon as possible this year, said Kalaba. BiH will not invite FVO inspection again until "all flaws have been removed", he said, adding that no country received such permit from the EU after the first inspection.
